Warehouse Team Leader - Night Shift
We are seeking a dynamic and hands-on Warehouse Team Leader to join our Night Shift (10.00pm to 6.30am) team. This is a pivotal leadership role, responsible for overseeing the production picking function and providing backup support for inwards operations when required.
Key Responsibilities | He kōrero mō te tūranga
- Lead and Inspire: Serve as an effective leader by managing a team of 12 to 15 employees, while maintaining clear communication and fostering motivation in collaboration with management.
- Ensure Safety & Compliance: Champion health and safety, uphold quality standards, and promptly report and investigate incidents.
- Drive Operational Efficiency: Oversee daily operations, meet delivery targets, and solve problems as they arise.
- Promote Continuous Improvement: Implement process enhancements and foster a Kaizen culture.
- Develop & Manage Performance: Mentor, coach, and build team cohesion, focusing on skill development.
- Demonstrated expertise in warehouse management within manufacturing and industrial settings.
- Skilled with IT tools; ERP/SAP/NAV a plus
- Innovative leader with Kaizen experience and strong problem-solving skills (e.g., 5Why).
- Familiarity with GEMBA Walks, 5S, and best health & safety practices.
- Confident running MBU1 (Toolbox) sessions and directing floor staff.
- Ability to make sound decisions using all available information.
- Financial acumen to ensure fiscally responsible choices.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills to achieve business objectives.
